Empower Teens to SHINE

My name is Michelle Mehta, a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach, an Associate Certified Coach through the International Coach Federation, and a Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) Practitioner.

My Story

I was born in an Indian Family, and the first person in my family to be raised in the United States. I grew up with a tremendous amount of love and support throughout my life.
As I entered elementary school, I used to tell my parents, “I have no friends.” When I entered middle school, I started to value friendships and made a great group of friends; however, I was bullied a few times and felt insecure about my body.
As I went through high school, I was bullied again and gave up on school. I even failed most of my classes. I changed schools again in junior year, and recognized my self-worth and realized what authentic friendships looked and felt like.
My college career began by focusing on my strengths as a leader and team player, and I embraced the fact that I was not like my peers. I realized I was made to do things that were unique and different compared to my peers and classmates.

My Values & Beliefs

My Career

My career started off in the Financial Services Industry, and I quickly realized the management was not supportive of their teams. I then worked in the Staffing Industry and experienced 2 lay-offs within 6 months. I gave up on Corporate America after being burnt out. My parents offered me a position in the family business that I enjoyed even though it was not fulfilling.

In the past, I always allowed my insecurities to get the best of me and destroy my self-worth. I felt like I did not matter, I felt like I was not appreciated and loved by my team members, and I felt worthless.

I realized my struggle was extremely painful, and it made me a strong person. I am motivated to inspire and encourage youth not to let their insecurities from their childhood affect their adulthood. The insecurities that begin at a young age make a lasting impact as the children get older. By the time the children reach adulthood, if their insecurities are not handled in a timely manner, they will impact them in ways that we cannot even comprehend, such as getting involved with drugs and alcohol, having bad romantic relationships, having mental issues like depression and anxiety, and even attempting to commit suicide.

I am passionate about helping teenagers feel authentic, empowered, worthy, loved, and to help them create a sense of belonging and the belief that the world needs their talents. If you feel you’re called to have your teenager work with me, let’s set up a time with teen counselor to talk and connect.

I look forward to Empowering Your Teenager to Shine With Confidence!
